Evenings with the Master Gardeners
Enjoy an evening with a Master Gardener! Penn State Master Gardeners
will share their gardening knowledge and experiences throughout
the summer on Wednesday evenings. Each lesson will begin at 6:30
pm. Subjects vary each week.

Fall Craft Series
Offered in November, this series is filled with great fall craft
ideas. Subjects vary each year. There are four class which can
be taken for a fee per class or a discounted fee for all four.
They are offered in the evening from 6:30PM to 8:00PM. Materials
are provided unless otherwise stated. Past subjects have been:
Flower Pounding, Holiday Centerpieces, Folk Art Felt Ornaments,
Floral Arranging for Beginners, Simmering Potpourri, and Sweet
Annie Garland.

Gardening 101
Learn the gardening basics! Annual and perennial gardening tips:
Planting, care, and propagation tips.
Vegetable gardening tips: A planting calendar, crop rotation,
and harvesting tips.

Green Thumb Series
Offered in March, these five classes are sure to get you ready
for spring! Participants can pay per class or pay a discounted
fee for all five. This has continued to be our most popular series.
Subjects vary from year to year. Classes are offered either in
the evening from 7:00PM to 8:30PM or Saturday mornings from 9:00AM
to 10:30AM. Past subjects have included: Backyard Habitats, Theme
Gardens, Seed Propagation, Organic Gardening, and Vegetable Gardening.

Master Gardener Bus Trip
This April bus trip is organized by our Master Gardeners and
is open to the public. Cost includes bus and a bagged lunch. Destinations
visited in the past include: Longwood Gardens/WinterThur Tour,
Mt. Cuba, Univeristy of Delaware Botanical Gardens, Felicita Gardens
& Hershey Gardens, Hillwood Museum & Gardens, and Brookside
Gardens.

Landscape Design Series
This series is for the do-it-yourself homeowner. You will create
and draw your own landscape design. You will receive drafting
tools and grid paper to get you started on your outdoor living
space. This series is broken down into five sessions. Each session
will build upon the last. Come prepared to work on your own project,
whether its your foundation planting, perennial border,
garden pond or any outdoor garden area. We will guide you through
the planning and plant selection.

Perennial Sale
Each year in May, the Penn State Master Gardeners of Adams County
have a perennial sale.
All proceeds will support programs such as childrens programming,
scholarship fund, as well as other Master Gardener educational curriculum.
The perennial sale will be held at the Agricultural and Natural
Resource Center at 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg.

Held in October, this day-long Saturday program draws approximately
80 participants and 10 vendors. The highlight of this program is
welcoming a well-known keynote speaker for two presentations and
a book signing if applicable. Past speakers have been: Roger Swain,
Art Wolk, Darrell Trout, Rick Mikula, Holly Shimizu, and Joel Lerner.
Contentinal breakfast and lunch are provided.

This week long camp held the last week in June, focuses on Agriculture
and the Environment. For children in grades 3-6, this camp is packed
with hands-on activities, field trips, and more.
